Event review

Sales and Service leaders from across Europe gathered for a dynamic conference experience
designed to launch higher level of achievements. ELEVATE 2018 focused on the growing connections needed to attain and sustain a high-performance salesforce in today’s innovation-driven environment.

The event kicked off on Tuesday 19 June with the 2 nd Annual Miller Heiman Group Golf challenge, where seasoned golfers and beginners alike joined pro Costantino Rocca on the green of the Gut Häusern. The sun was shining while our golfers played one round over a total of 18 holes. The tournament winners were announced at the end of the day before travelling to the beautiful Schloss Hohenkammer where the summit would be held the next day. That evening, guests were welcomed with a reception and cocktails before the exciting Table Football Championship!

Wednesday’s Summit started off with a great introduction from Richard Hilton, Managing Director of Miller Heiman Group EMEA and Catherine Schalk, who we were lucky enough to have moderate ELEVATE 2018. The first session was from our CEO, Byron Matthews. He discussed what the future of sales and service looks like, providing insight into the shift that the industry will experience over the next decade. This was followed by a Customer Best Practice from Gerben Jacobs of DSM Food Specialties (DFS). After a short break for networking and refreshments, Miller Heiman Group’s Chief Product Officer, Dana Hamerschlag discussed how to link analytics and AI to your sales process to create insight and take action that gives you an almost unfair advantage.

Next up was the workshop sessions. Attendees chose from three workshops: Real World
Applications and Tools to Prepare for the Future of Sales and Service, Sales Enablement: From Confusion to Clarity, or The Journey to Sustainable Customer Advocacy. During these interactive workshops led by industry experts, delegates had an in-depth exploration of the topics that are affecting their own organisations today.

After lunch, the afternoon was filled with many more informative sessions. Seleste Lunsford
presented highlights from CSO Insight’s recent Buyer Preferences Study followed by another
Customer Best Practice, this time from Jeffery Court of FLSmidth. The day concluded with two of the most thought provoking sessions of the day. During our panel discussion, industry leaders discussed the impact that talent has on Sales Organisations today. We then looked into the future with futurist Stefan Hyttfors, who spoke about disruptive technologies, behavioural changes, and next generation leadership.

ELEVATE 2018 provided insights and tools to executives charged with building and maintaining an innovative and competitive salesforce now and into the future. See you next year at the Belfry (near Birmingham) for ELEVATE 2019!
